Regional Development Australia South West - Chair Reappointment
Federal Minister for Regional Development, the Hon Kristy McBain has demonstrated her confidence in Regional Development Australia’s South West leadership by reappointing the Chair.
Scott Robinson has been confirmed in the role to the end of 2027 with an option to extend to 2029.
He said: “I’m delighted that the Minister has belief in us to continue supporting the region.
“Our board is made up of amazing, influential people and the staff all care deeply about the South West. It’s a great combination that gets things done.
“For example, we brought two national conferences to the region before Christmas. That yielded a local spend in excess of $350,000 in just four days.”
RDA SW has a developing reputation for SW Regional Futures, a strategic document that highlights regional opportunities. RDA SW also supports an investment platform, provides economic modelling services and works closely with the region’s local governments. Work in that space landed RDASW a national economic development award last year.
“We’re involved in a stack of first class projects which is energising,” said Mr Robinson. “We’re supporting a wide range of things from Nannup hosting world championship cycling and CBD developments in Bunbury to Busselton Margaret River Airport and connecting business with Tasmania. There’s so much to look forward to.”
The reappointment is an endorsement of the direction RDASW taken and we're looking forward to continuing the great work the board and staff have been doing under Scott’s leadership.
